  1. Hi Frode, Please can you let us fellow FS-UAE users know when you might be including/adding “Full CD Rom” support so i use my pc’s external CD Rom drive to launch music and amiga game CD’s please ?

  2. Hi there!

Looking at the site says latest stable is 3.0.3 but download is for 3.0.5 ? Is there any doc/text of the changes? Is it really 3.0.5 or typos?

    Thanks!

    • 3.0.4 and 3.0.5 wasn’t released for all systems immediate. They mostly contained packaging updates. So I waited a bit until 3.0.5 was set to latest. Anyway, version 3.1 is available now 🙂

  3. Hi, Frode,
recently I complained that I couldn’t establish MIDI transmission in FS-UAE on the Raspberry Pi (Raspian – a Debian variant).
I can give the message that it works now.
    This is how I proceeded:
    1. connect the USB-MIDI interface to the Pi
    2. search in /dev/snd for the MIDI device. for me the entry was : midiC1D0
    3. enter the line in the configuration file of the FS-UAE:

    serial_port = /dev/snd/midiC1D0

From now on any MIDI program of the virtual AMIGA can use the serial port for MIDI transmission, just like on the classic AMIGA.
The same way it works under other LINIX distributions.

I have written this here so that others can use it too.

For me this means: Now even the best multimedia MIDI sequencer ever written for a computer system runs on my Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB RAM).

Therefore I would like to thank you very much for the MIDI support in FS-UAE.
NB: I have successfully compiled version 3.0.2 here on and for my Raspberry Pi 4.

  4. Version 3.0. 3 works perfectly with all midi programs. I even run multiple instances of FS-UAE with different bars and pipes window’s syncing them to each other so I can send different midi information to different synths, groove boxes and other midi equipment. It’s extremely stable, fast and there is not a midi command that fails! It’s even better than an original Amiga. Winuae has too many problems with midi, especially with system exclusive Data.

It works with FS-UAE perfectly. So for Ubuntu you don’t need to program any midi software in FS-UAE.

    Thanks for this wonderful program!
    Kindest regards,
    WARREN

  5. Dear Frode,
I sent you a detailed tutorial to your email address on how to use midi bars and pipes and other Amiga software with FS-UAE with Ubuntu. Works with other Linux distributions more than likely too. Did you get it? I have finished the German version too! It’s only the first draft and m
    Needs work and formatting!

  7. Total noob here 🙂
I’m comfortable in the windows environment but would like to run the Linux version of FS-UAE. I have installed a version of Mint (18.?) because I have tried it in the past and liked it, currently running updates on the current installation.org

Found a link at Flathub.org and it installed 3.0 version but the current version is 3.0.3 and I would like to update to that version before I start making the necessary changes and setting up the emulator. Any chance there is an easy to understand, step by step instruction somewhere? Video is nice but sometimes the instructions go by too fast for a new person jumping into this os.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.
PS: (Not scared to enter commands in the terminal.)

      • Hi FrodeSolheim,
I’m sitting here in front of my Raspian Desktop. I’ve made a compile of the Version 3.0.2 of fs-uae and of fs-uae-laucher from the Sources on GitHub for this Little – BIG Arm based Computer. This is done well. The program is running in a aceptable Speed with a 68EC040 CPU and UAEGFX (Picasso96).
I’ve done this to make try to use the new MIDI-abilities on this new Version, because I’m the “BarsnPipes-men” (www.alfred-j-faust.de), and would like to see my beloved Multimedia-MIDI-sequencer BarsnPipes – the best Multimedia-MIDI-sequencer ever made for a Computer-system. But what is a MIDI-sequencer without MIDI-Transmission ??? I#ve had no success
Maybe you can help me to Setup the System. Means: to Setup the Serial_port for MIDI.
        Kindly regards, Alfred

        • Hi, there is no MIDI support in v3.0.3 – that’s only a minor bug-fix release. The MIDI support has been merged into the master branch and will be included in upcoming development releases.
