FS-UAE 2.6.1 Released

I am pleased to announce the release of FS-UAE 2.6.1 πŸ™‚

Improvements over version 2.4.x include:

  • Updated emulation code from WinUAE 3.1.0.
  • Support for PPC emulation (can run AmigaOS 4.x) via QEMU-UAE plugin.
  • More emulated hardware support (Toccata, A2061, Picasso IV, …).
  • Better support for modern OS versions due to using SDL 2.0.
  • Built-in support for multiple displays, and fixes for HiDPI displays.
  • The Launcher supports modern OS versions better due to using QT 5.x.
  • Much improved FS-UAE Launcher user interface.
  • FS-UAE mouse integration (Workbench cursor follows host cursor).
  • Updated internal kickstart replacement from AROS.
  • Dual joystick/mouse mode for joystick port 0.
  • Official builds for SteamOS (Linux + Steam runtime).
  • OS X apps are now digitally signed (Apple Developer ID).
  • Support for JIT direct memory access (much faster JIT).
  • Many bug fixes.
  • … and a lot of other improvements. See the changelog entries for all the details.

Support for IPF disk images is now provided by a plugin which you need to download separately.

  1. Hi again. At the moment, we are using diferents o.s. but I have windows and mac, so If you are thinking to create a test version to fix the problem, we can test it in windows. My friend has just windows.

    Good news if you can fix as well the “issue” that itΒ΄s neccesary to use /customgame after /hostgame.

    When you have finish it this “beta” please send me the version to (fjssfjss@hotmail.com) and I can report you how works.

    I was playing online with 2.4.1. and everything were working fine until I have updated.

    The host when makes the game see many errors. The first the host see a new window. Then the host type the nexts lines to create a new game (the same as in 2.4.1)

    /hostgame external ip,127.0.0.1:open port 2
    /customgame external ip,127.0.0.1:open port 2

    And finally both see the same error, including the route of your mac! File “/Users/frode/sdk/fs-sdk-macosx-x86/lib/python3.4/socket.py”, line 512, in create_connection…

    Impossible to play! πŸ™ Can you help us?
    Both are ussing the same version (2.6.1) one of us in mac other in windows.

      I confirm you that in 2.4.1 I was playing online perfectly with other friend. Both with the same version (win and mac)
      And to play the game We tried many things and finally the solution was to type both sequences:

      /hostgame external ip,127.0.0.1:open port 2
      /customgame external ip,127.0.0.1:open port 2

        • Hi frode! Thanks for your reply.

          In 2.4.1 one of us (the host), use both commands (first /hostgame… and then /customgame….) See my first comment to check it. We need always to enter both

          In 2.6.1 , these commands dont work. Its different, in this version appears a new window when the host enter the first command (but appears many errors) so we know in that momment that something was wrong. Anyway the host enter the second command the problem continue, same errors. (You can see the errors in my comment below)

          • I can confirm that there is bug with /hostgame in in recent versions of FS-UAE. Do you both use the same operating system (In case I want to create a test version for you?)

            I’ll also see if I can quickly fix it so you don’t have to use /customgame after /hostgame…
