Ok the Launcher works under OSX 10.9 – 10.14x
The speed under Kick 3.1 & 3.1.4 is ok, but under AOS4.1FE it is 4-5 times slower…. (ref: 2.9.7dev)
I think it is the GFX emulation.

Not Working under OSX…

Problem is the libpython3.6.dylib, i change it to the 3.4 version but the program needs the 3.6

Hi Frode,
in the latest fs-uae 2.9.7 dev2 i can’t seem to switch off the Black Sidebars when running a game.
I have the 1084S Theme and the black bars simply overlay it. Is there an option somewhere or an entry for “Settings -> Advanced” ?
My “Settings-> Advanced” are:

frame = 0
launcher_config_feature = 1
scanlines = 0
theme = 1084x

I am currently testing 2.9.6dev and have found a bug regarding “windowed” mode.

I launch from command line passing a config file as a parameter which contains the following:

When the game launches the main window is offset to the left and if i press f12 to open the UI the top of the screen is missing, almost as if it thinks the bar at the top of the window doesn’t exist.

I have been using the config files on the stable branch with no problems for a while now so I can be sure that something is different in the devel branch causing the issue.

I was expecting smoother video playback when I switch my display from 60 to 50Hz (@1920×1080). Somehow this only seems to work in windowed mode.
If I use fullscreen everything gets really jerky and sluggish, audio and video. FS-UAE recgonizes the display correctly (showing either 1920×1080@50Hz or @60Hz depending on what I set up).
Any idea what is happening? At 60Hz everything is fine, but of course scrolling isn’t as smooth as in windowed mode with the desktop running at 50Hz.

Hi Frode,
by testing the new 2.9.5dev i found that the Mouse is not activated by default where it was in 2.9.3dev.
When in the Aracde Mode one can go to “Input Options” and select Mouse->Mouse. When getting back to the game,
the mouse will work. Could you please look into that issue? Thanks.

This is probably the smallest config that actually works

It discovers the ide disk correctly (as opposed to A4000 ide driver), but the .hdf must be changed a bit to make it work (startup-sequence root device, and /etc/fstab)

Awesome, i’m running currently Debian m68k (8.0) with it, and it’s great.

I also added inbound connections via qemu-uae – custom builds of qemu-uae crashed, so I did it hacky way.. but, hey. it works 🙂

accelerator_memory, accuracy, video_sync, uae_cpu_speed uae_slirp_implementation, accelerator_rom are all set to defaults, and can be omitted. kickstart_file is only needed if you use a non-default kickstart for A3000.

fpu_strict is not a valid option (you probably meant uae_fpu_strict). Likewise for bsdsocket_emu, the option name does not exist, but bsdsocket.library emulation defaults to off anyway. uae_sana2 is a virtual UAE/AmigaOS device, and presumably does not work with Linux. chipset_compatible is not a valid option name (uae_chipset_compatible is), but in any case, FS-UAE always enables “chipset_compatible”.

uae_a2065 = slirp can be replaced with network_card = a2065 in recent dev versions of FS-UAE, and uae_z3mem_size has an official counterpart which FS-UAE Launcher understands: zorro_iii_memory.

uae_z3mem_start does not do anything useful, because FS-UAE chooses a “real” Zorro III mapping starting at 0x40000000.

chip_memory should not be useful, but I discovered a bug where chipmem for A3000 is set to 1 MB by mistake when run via FS-UAE Launcher. This is fixed for the next dev version.

In short, the following config is more or less identical to yours if you are running the latest dev version of FS-UAE (but much easier to read):

[fs-uae] amiga_model = A3000 accelerator = cyberstorm-ppc cpu = 68060 floppy_drive_count = 0 hard_drive_0 = DEBIAN.hdf hard_drive_0_controller = scsi0 hard_drive_0_label = DEBIAN network_card = a2065 zorro_iii_memory = 1048576

Except chip_memory = 2048 is temporarily needed until a new release is published, and kickstart_file may be added if necessary 🙂

The 64-bit build doesn’t work here (mid-2012 MacPro running 10.9.5). The Launcher runs, but FS-UAE itself exits almost immediately. When I run the 32-bit FS-UAE from the command line, the console output includes:

UAE: KS ROM v3.1 (A4000) rev 40.68 (512k)
res_initcode context = 0x0

The 64-bit version (using the same config file) exits between those two messages.

This is with 2.74dev, but it’s the first 64-bit version I’ve tried.

How will i know the “stable” version will work with Yosemite 10.10.5 (scrolling in open dialog), I must use dev. build, but will this be documented ?

I want to use stable version at some point, but no idea if this issue has been fixed yet.

great work guys. The latest Dev version has a few issues I’m sure your aware of. switching back to mac desktop and then FSUAE causes the mouse to only move halfway back up the fuse screen. other than that and a bit of screen glitching when scrolling thru drawers it seems fine.

Hi FS,

Since the last few updates i’ve done, my new MacBook Pro does not start full-screen correctly from the Launcher, but this could be a historic problem as i have a new laptop.

It is fine using FS-Arcade, but if i use the launcher i have much of the screen cut off … My ‘resolution’ setting in OSX simply says “Scaled” (although i get the same if i switch to “best for display” and does not actuall give screen sizes, but it is just as bad (or worse) if the scaling is changed. I am runnng OSX 10.9.3.

I can send you some screen shots if it helps, but i guess it is to do with the way the screen is being detected. Curous that FS-Arcade is fine though!

Hi,is ti possible to add a search dialog in FS-UAE Arcade? It will make game browsing much more easier.
Letter search doesn’t help much.

Anyway, providing support for building the dependencies for FS-UAE seems a bit more than I can reasonably provide. But I’d recommend using macports or homebrew to get easy installation of the dependencies. It is not entirely clear what you wish to gain by building from source though, since it does not sound like your are going to change the FS-UAE source code…

Hm. Any particular reason why libfs-capsimage isn’t offered via the APT repo?

Hi! I added the fs-uae debian repository to my debian testing sources.list. Instalation went fine and the fs-uae engine works fine too, but when i try to run the launcher it won’t run. Here you have some output from terminal:
mateusz@debian:~$ fs-uae-launcher
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “/usr/bin/fs-uae-launcher”, line 3, in
from fs_uae_launcher import main
ImportError: No module named fs_uae_launcher

Could you tell me how to fix it please ?

The problem was the the debian packaging did not have a dependency on python-support. It should be fixed now in the repository for development versions.

Just a small correction, you need to do a “sudo apt-get update” after adding the ppa. I.e.:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:fengestad/devel
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fs-uae fs-uae-launcher

I just downloaded 1.3.15. I noticed two things:

1. My theme commands in host.fs-uae are still used. I really do not mind this, but it is different than the release notes.

2. The launcher is showing the screenshot in both areas instead of the title screen on the left with the screenshot on the right. It is a cosmetic issue, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

Great work as always! I had given up trying to get an Amiga emulator working on my Mac prior to finding FS-UAE.

Hi Frode, I’ve another feature request, but the english amiga board doesn’t work at this time. Is it possible, that all files in a default dir (e.g. floppies or cdroms) are listed in FS-UAE for selection? In this case, the config option “floppy_image_x” don’t need anymore. Greets
