Recommended download:
The installer above is the recommended download due to ease of use. However, it does not allow you to choose install location, so if this is important to you, download the alternative zip file instead. You can extract that and run the program from the extracted folder, no installation needed.

The packages require Windows 7 (64-bit) or newer. Official 32-bit builds of FS-UAE are no longer available, but it is possible to build 32-bit versions from source code.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fs-uae fs-uae-launcher fs-uae-arcade
Alternatively, you can manually download .deb files instead.

The above packages include (most) libraries required to run. Your Linux distribution only has to provide glibc and OpenGL. The packages work on Ubuntu 16.04 and newer, and should work fine on other recent Linux distributions.
Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora and openSUSE have their own menu entries in the sidebar to the right.

No official (fs-uae.net-provided) binary packages are available for FreeBSD, but the source code compiles and FS-UAE runs on FreeBSD.
The stable version of FS-UAE is available in the FreeBSD ports tree. The development version must be built manually from the source code.
FS-UAE will run poorly without hardware-accelerated OpenGL drivers.

To install, download the desired plugin zip file and extract the
folder within to your Documents/FS-UAE/Plugins
folder (You should end up with Documents/FS-UAE/Plugins/PluginName).
Create the Plugins
folder first if it is missing.
If you are using the portable version of FS-UAE, you
extract to the Plugins folder in the portable folder instead).
If you want to, you can also download all the below plugins bundled in one archive for your convenience:
This plugin provides support for reading IPF floppy disk images, and works on Windows, macOS and Linux.
This plugin provides support for PPC emulation (PPC CPU core provided by QEMU) and Slirp network support, and works on Windows, macOS and Linux.
The following plugins provide files which can used by FS-UAE Launcher. (version 2.9.11dev or newer). When these plugins are present, the Launcher can use the files from the plugins instead of downloading them on-demand from the Internet, so these are mostly useful for creating an offline setup of FS-UAE Launcher.

What FS-UAE version are you using? What macOS version are you using?
I test your new one under OSX 10.9-10.13 with some clean system and with the newest xcode etc always the same error….
The file FS-UAE_2.9.8dev2_macOS_x86-64.tar.xz works!
Does http://fs-uae.net/devel/2.9.9dev2/ work for you?
Pingback: [Ordi.] FS-UAE (Instable) v2.9.8 DEV 2 - Emu-France
Latest 2.9.7dev3 win32 portable emulator only – “… libpcre-1.dll was not found. …”
Hi, please try the new 2.9.8dev 🙂
Frode is back and we love him!
Hi Frode,
in the latest fs-uae 2.9.7 dev2 i can’t seem to switch off the Black Sidebars when running a game.
I have the 1084S Theme and the black bars simply overlay it. Is there an option somewhere or an entry for “Settings -> Advanced” ?
My “Settings-> Advanced” are:
frame = 0
launcher_config_feature = 1
scanlines = 0
theme = 1084x
Thanks for reading,
G.
Hi, the newly introduced frame option was renamed to bezel. So
bezel = 0
should fix it 🙂Thanks Frode, that did the trick!

Hi Frode,
Fedora 25
Nvidia 381.22
i7 6700k
I am currently testing 2.9.6dev and have found a bug regarding “windowed” mode.
I launch from command line passing a config file as a parameter which contains the following:
[fs-uae]
chip_memory = 2048
fast_memory = 8192
hard_drive_0 = /mnt/data/emulators/emulator_scripts/amiga/target/ShadowDancer_v1.0_0202.zip
joystick_port_0=mouse
joystick_port_0_mode=mouse
joystick_port_1=Xbox Gamepad (userspace driver)
joystick_port_1_mode=joystick
keep_aspect=1
video_sync_method=swap-fence
kickstart_file=/home/toxicshadow/Documents/FS-UAE/Kickstarts/kick301.rom
theme = test
x_whdload_args = ShadowDancer.Slave PRELOAD
x_whdload_version = 17.1
amiga_model = A1200
window_width = 1680
window_height = 1050
fullscreen = 0
When the game launches the main window is offset to the left and if i press f12 to open the UI the top of the screen is missing, almost as if it thinks the bar at the top of the window doesn’t exist.
I have been using the config files on the stable branch with no problems for a while now so I can be sure that something is different in the devel branch causing the issue.
Thanks.
Hmm, does the problem occur if you remove
theme = test
?I was expecting smoother video playback when I switch my display from 60 to 50Hz (@1920×1080). Somehow this only seems to work in windowed mode.
If I use fullscreen everything gets really jerky and sluggish, audio and video. FS-UAE recgonizes the display correctly (showing either 1920×1080@50Hz or @60Hz depending on what I set up).
Any idea what is happening? At 60Hz everything is fine, but of course scrolling isn’t as smooth as in windowed mode with the desktop running at 50Hz.
Played around with the settings a bit and this only seems to happen with FSAA set to 4x or 8x, at 2x (and off of course) it works fine. Are the other 2 modes hardcoded to 60Hz displays maybe?
Using a low-end but current NVidia card (1050Ti) under Windows 10.
Hi, based on your findings, I think it’s likely that using FSAA makes the rendering on the GPU take too long, thus causing missed frames, and, due to vsync being enabled, stuttering and slow playback.
(FSAA isn’t really that useful in FS-UAE, so I recommend keeping it disabled).
Hmmm… wouldn’t explain why it works at 60Hz though? There’s no difference between no FSAA and 8x at 60Hz. Isn’t that odd?
If your display is at 60 Hz and the emulation runs at 50 Hz, FS-UAE does not actually enable full v-sync (it cannot do it in a meaningful way). So, the emulation runs like when v-sync is off.
Hi Frode,
by testing the new 2.9.5dev i found that the Mouse is not activated by default where it was in 2.9.3dev.
When in the Aracde Mode one can go to “Input Options” and select Mouse->Mouse. When getting back to the game,
the mouse will work. Could you please look into that issue? Thanks.
Hi, I uploaded a new test version which should fix the problem: http://fs-uae.net/devel/2.9.5dev3/. (Problem was Windows-only).
