The SteamOS / Steam runtime version is deprecated. Please use the new generic Linux binaries instead, which should work on all platforms, including SteamOS.
No official (fs-uae.net-provided) binary packages are available for FreeBSD, but the source code compiles and FS-UAE runs on FreeBSD.
The stable version of FS-UAE is available in the FreeBSD ports tree. The development version must be built manually from the source code.
FS-UAE will run poorly without hardware-accelerated OpenGL drivers.

IPF floppy image support if provided by a plugin. In the future,
plugins will probably automatically be downloaded on demand by FS-UAE
Launcher, but for now, manual installation is needed.
To install, download the CAPSImg zip file and extract the
CAPSImg
folder to your Documents/FS-UAE/Plugins
folder. Create the Plugins
folder first if it is missing.

Hi! I added the fs-uae debian repository to my debian testing sources.list. Instalation went fine and the fs-uae engine works fine too, but when i try to run the launcher it won’t run. Here you have some output from terminal:
mateusz@debian:~$ fs-uae-launcher
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “/usr/bin/fs-uae-launcher”, line 3, in
from fs_uae_launcher import main
ImportError: No module named fs_uae_launcher
Could you tell me how to fix it please ?
The problem was the the debian packaging did not have a dependency on python-support. It should be fixed now in the repository for development versions.
Just a small correction, you need to do a “sudo apt-get update” after adding the ppa. I.e.:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:fengestad/devel
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fs-uae fs-uae-launcher
Fixed 🙂 -thanks for reporting!
Excellent software, best AMIGA emulator I’ve seen ever! Thanks mate!
Brilliant Emulator, Works like a charm, plus with a fair amount of updates makes this GOLD
Hello, is it possible to use the JIT on MAC OSX Snow Leopard ? How ?
The Mac package distributed here is 32-bit and JIT should work with it:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=818128 (Try with option uae_cachesize = 8192, also use Amiga model A1200/020 or A4000/040).
I just downloaded 1.3.15. I noticed two things:
1. My theme commands in host.fs-uae are still used. I really do not mind this, but it is different than the release notes.
2. The launcher is showing the screenshot in both areas instead of the title screen on the left with the screenshot on the right. It is a cosmetic issue, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
Great work as always! I had given up trying to get an Amiga emulator working on my Mac prior to finding FS-UAE.
Bob
1. You’re right -there was a bug in FS-UAE (a missing return statement) causing end_config = 1 to do nothing. Will be fixed in the next version.
2. Haven’t seen this myself, but I’ll try to reproduce it.
Thanks for reporting the issues 🙂
Regarding item #2, I have my title screen in ~/Documents/FS-UAE/TItles/B/Battle Squadron.png and the screenshot in ~/Documents/FS-UAE/Screenshots/B/Battle Squadron.png.
I have only started with one game. I am waiting for an FS-UAE screenshot key that will work on my Mac before I start trying to add more title screens and screenshots.
Bob
Hi Frode! Will the launcher package be avaible for fedora too?
Hi, you should be able to download and test the launcher package for Fedora now 🙂 -Please note that a desktop file / menu icon is not installed yet, so you must run the command “fs-uae-launcher”, and fs-uae must also be installed.
Thank you for this amazing Emulator, especially for a Mac User it is a relief to be up to date with WinUAE. The whole idea behind your interpretation of UAE is brilliant!
Pingback: Emulating the Amiga on Non-Windows Platforms
Hi Frode, I’ve another feature request, but the english amiga board doesn’t work at this time. Is it possible, that all files in a default dir (e.g. floppies or cdroms) are listed in FS-UAE for selection? In this case, the config option “floppy_image_x” don’t need anymore. Greets
Hi. I will consider this (or something similar). floppy_image_x options will remain anyway, though.
