Documentation topics are available from the documentation menu to the right. Some common issues and questions are answered here in FAQ and Troubleshooting.

If you have just installed FS-UAE, you might want to take a look at the getting started-guide first! As the getting started-guide mentions, you should ideally have Kickstart ROMs for the Amigas you want to emulate.

While you are running the emulator, you can open the FS-UAE menu or use keyboard shortcuts to control the emulator.

Configuration Files

If you use FS-UAE Launcher, you don’t have worry about configuration files, but when you use FS-UAE directly, you need to specify options either as program arguments or via configuration files.

  2. Hello, fantastic work πŸ™‚

I am using the fs-uae on fedora 21 and it work fine, and I would like to ask if have any way for read original floppy disk 880k from classic amiga to the PC with FS-UAE

thank you and sorry about my terrible english.

    Best regards,

    • Unfortunately, you cannot read Amiga disks on PCs with any software, as the PC floppy controller is not flexible enough.

  3. Hi there Frode!

I am planning on buying a Rasberry pi-2 , is there a way that I could run fsuae on noobs or raspbian?

    Thank you!!

    • I think it would be too slow πŸ™‚ (And it would also need an OpenGL ES version of FS-UAE, which I do not provide yet, but still, the Pi 2 hardware is too slow anyway…)

  4. Hi Frode! A big thanks for your nice application – the most easiest way – to enjoy our beloved amiga to PC’s πŸ™‚

I have a quick question…. i am using the game database and it seems (example i tried to play bloodnet or bloodnet aga) the url’s are not valid anymore :/ ( Do you have any plans to fix this in a future release? Do i have to upgrade to a newer version of fsuae? I am currently running 2.4.1 (windows)

    • Hi, and thanks for your feedback πŸ™‚ Turns out the the URLs for games hosted on have changed. I have updated the corresponding entries on to point to the correct download page!

Also, regarding version, I recommend updating to the latest 2.6.0beta1 for the best experience πŸ™‚

  5. Hi Frode, I have a couple of feature requests. When you click on the game, the menu on the right says start game – can we also have an entry in the menu for loading a save state? This is instead of having to start the game, then press F12 and then go to savestates.

Secondly can we have a button in the user interface that brings up the F12 menu?

    • Hi, and thanks for your suggestion πŸ™‚ (I have added the save state idea here: – you can subscribe to that “issue” to get any updates on that). As for a button in the user interface, I’m not sure what you mean. The mouse is (generally) used to control the Amiga mouse, so it wouldn’t really be practical to have a clickable button to bring up the menu…

  6. Any plan on supporting OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0 in near future for boards like ODROIDs, Pandaboard, or RPi?
I know there is a special OpenGL ES 1.1 version out there but it’s a little bit outdated and OpenGL ES 2.0 would be very nice for all the shaders.

    • Hi, I’ll probably at one point rewrite the video renderer, and include different backends for GL1, GL2, GLES2, (GLES1?) etc. I don’t have a timeline for this, but I have ordered a couple of OpenGL ES devices… πŸ™‚

  7. Hello, and congratulations for the excellent work!! I would like to know what I should, do in order to enable the program to play remotely with friends. can you help me ?? thank you

  8. To fix this while maintaining the regular functionality of the rest of the F keys:

System preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Mission Control > Untick “Show Dashboard F12”

Now when using FS-UAE, Holding Fn and pressing F12 will bring up the menu

  9. I’ve noticed a strange problem whenever I’ve used UAE on the PC and FS-UAE on the Mac with a USB gamepad/joystick.

It’s as if only one command from the gamepad/joystick can be sent at a time over USB.

Basically, when playing fairly slow games I don’t notice it but when playing intense games like Sensible Soccer it seems like fire button presses don’t always register. I’ve purchased another set of USB gamepads to test this theory and and I have the same problem. If I change direction in Sensible Soccer and press FIRE at the same time, the FIRE press doesn’t get recognised and thus I don’t kick the ball at critical points in the game so it’s completely unplayable.

This definitely does not happen on a real amiga. I tried using my Amiga 600 and 1200 in the same game doing the same thing I noticed that I can change direction and press FIRE and both register on the real hardware.

I tried it two player before using UAE on Windows and only one person’s input seems to work at a time.

Do you know what causes this? Is it an emulator limitation? Is there a setting I can change to allow simultaneous multiple commands to be sent from a USB controller?

    • I have never heard of this problem. -And it’s certainly not an FS-UAE limitation. You should try on another computer if you have the chance.

  10. The F12 menu seems broken on MAC – Im trying to swap floppies, but pressing ‘Cmd+F12’ does nothing at all. No ‘Menu’ appears. If I press ‘cmd+f12+Q’ it quits out of FS-UAE, so I believe it is working, but the menu is not. I found that selecting β€˜Use all F1, F2 etc. keys as standard function keys in the the configuration section of OSX seems to fix it…

    • Yes, it is known and documented ( The shortcuts are awkward due to Apple’s default setup (which makes it “hard” to use the function keys). Using F keys as standard function keys work well as you figured out. Additionally, if one want to, one can remove or reassign F12 in OS X preferences so the expose feature does not use it.
